Is your SMSF loan ‘set and forget’? It shouldn’t be.

25/3/2026

We often review our term deposits and home or business loans to ensure we’re getting the best return, but when was the last time you gave your SMSF loan the same level of scrutiny?
Picture
I recently helped a client refinance their SMSF loan, and the results speak for themselves:
  • Old Rate: 8.19%
  • New Rate: 6.44%
  • The Difference: A 1.75% reduction in interest.
On a $430,000 loan, that’s an immediate saving of $7,525 per year. 💰

Beyond the rate: The client also gained access to an interest offset facility. Now, any surplus cash in their SMSF works double-time—reducing interest costs further and helping them pay down the loan faster.

The SMSF lending market is more competitive than ever. If you haven't reviewed your rate in the last 12 months, it’s likely you’re giving money away.

At Finance Logic, we specialise in navigating the growing landscape of SMSF lenders.
